That Are Actually Worth the Hype

Interlaken gets a ton of attention from travel TikTok and abroad blogs — and to be honest, I wasn’t sure it could live up to it. But after going, I get it. Some stuff is overpriced or kind of a letdown... but a few things? Fully lived up to the hype. Here’s what actually slapped when we went:

1. Skydiving Over the Swiss Alps

Two people paragliding over a mountainous landscape with snow-capped peaks and a valley town below.

This is the main event — and yeah, it’s expensive, but if you’re going to jump out of a plane once in your life, let it be over snow-covered mountains and bright blue lakes. It’s terrifying and peaceful at the same time. The views are unreal. The staff makes you feel safe. And once you land, you feel like the coolest person alive.

2. Kayaking on Lake Brienz

Not everything in Interlaken has to be a full adrenaline rush. Kayaking on Lake Brienz was way more chill — and honestly one of the prettiest things we did. The lake water is this insane turquoise color and it’s totally calm, so even beginners will be fine.

It’s also a nice way to start your morning with an early rise.

3. Chocolate Making (Yes, You Get to Eat Everything)

Woman in a red chef hat tasting chocolate from a piping bag in a kitchen.

We didn’t expect this one to be a highlight, but it was actually such a fun break from all the outdoor stuff. You get to melt, pour, decorate, and taste legit Swiss chocolate — and it’s kind of therapeutic in the best way.

Plus, you leave with a box of chocolate you made yourself, which somehow makes it taste even better.
