Is Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen Worth the Price?

It’s hard to say yes to something when you see the price tag. Whether it is expensive or not, spending money always needs to feel worth it. Tivoli Gardens is an amusement park located in the heart and soul of Copenhagen. With tickets ranging from 30-80 dollars, let’s see if the experience is worth the cost.

Vibe of the Park
Tivoli is the second oldest amusement park in the world. It is most known for the gardens all around the park, the rides and attractions, and the lights they put on every night. It also served as a source of inspiration for Walt Disney’s theme parks. Hans Christain Andersen also took ideas from the park when crafting his fairytale, The Nightingale. Tivoli has modernized their park while also remaining true to their old time feel.

Special Events
In the fall, Tivoli hosts a halloween market with beautiful decor, shops, and themed drinks. In the winter, they have a Christmas market. In the summer it’s the Garden and Flower festival and finally, the spring is when they celebrate food! If you happen to be around for any of their festivals, I highly recommend stopping by. Walking through the streets of Tiovli with a warm drink in your hand and the lights all around is truly an experience like no other.

The Rides and The Food
The rides are mostly older and due to the inspiration taken from the park, they can be wonderfully nostalgic, even to those who have never ridden them. They also have one of only seven rollercoasters in the world that has a brakeman on board every train. Their food is also super special. With a huge food hall serving modern, innovative food and Danish classics, there is something for everyone. You cannot leave the park without trying something new! My favorite is a Smorrebrod, a traditional open faced sandwich on rye bread.

Tivoli gardens, while a little bit pricey, truly has a lot to offer. With some fun lights, insane rides, and cool impact the park made, it truly is worth it to spend a bit and go!
