You think Portugal and your mind immediately goes to Lisbon, a beautiful city rich in history. But this country is more than just its most well known city. There are beautiful towns and cities all across the country. From beach towns to beautiful cities, Portugal is packed with incredible sights: like Porto. With amazing architecture and outdoor activities, you cannot go wrong with a weekend in Porto.
Wine
From a tour of wine country to an entire museum, wine culture is not lacking in Porto. The Pink Palace Rose Museum at the World of Wine allows you a hands-on experience to taste and take pictures. If rose isn’t really your thing, sign up for the Douro Valley Wine tour. You’ll stop by two wineries, grab lunch, and head out on the water for a boat tour. A full day of wine and bliss in Porto. What could be better!
World’s Most Beautiful…
The golden arches have taken over the world. Almost every single country has a Mcdonalds, and yet none of them compare to the most beautiful Mcdonalds in the world, right in Porto. In all seriousness, this Mcdonalds is super beautiful on the outside with some different food items then American Mcdonalds have, it is definitely worth a visit. Fast food isn’t the only thing in this city that is beautiful, but they also have one of the most stunning book stores in the world. Livraria Lello is easily one of the most stunning bookstores I’ve ever seen. You MUST add it to your Porto list.
Outdoor Activities
From a sunset cruise on a sail boat to a quad bike tour, there is literally an activity for everyone. You can do a city walking tour and just spend time walking around and seeing beautiful sights. You could do the same tour but on a bike, or explore the local national parks by quad bike for an unforgettable, thrilling experience. There are so many things to see in Porto, all of which is best done outside. Whether you choose to hang out on the water, in the city, or in the mountains, you are guaranteed the best time.
Porto is a beautiful city with amazing sights. Although it is often forgotten because of all the other beautiful aspects of Portugal, it is 1000% worth being added to your travel list. To book any of the activities mentioned, check out our page on Porto!
