Melbourne is regarded as Australia’s cultural capital for good reason– the city offers exotic activities at every hour of the day. Whether it be hot air balloon rides or cruises down the Yarra, options often feel endless. But, the city’s many activities shouldn’t be overwhelming, so we’ve crafted you the ideal day in Melbourne:

The coffee and avocado toast can wait– head towards The Hotel Windsor, where you’ll meet your guide for this sunrise hot air balloon flight. Take in the beautiful views of the MCG, Yarra River, and Melbourne skyline. It’s the best way to start any morning. After a one-hour cruise in the wind, peacefully glide back down with the whole day ahead of you.

Now it’s time to stroll through the Fitzroy Gardens, Melbourne’s most prized park. This lush greenery houses historic cottages and picturesque fountains. The vibes are super peaceful and the quiet relaxation is a nice change of pace from the noisy city. Just a short walk from Fitzroy is the Australian Sports Museum, an interactive and dynamic exhibit, showcasing both the history and modern tech of Australian sports. Check it out. It’s got everything from cricket memorabilia to life-size, 3D holograms of AFL athletes.

Jump out of bed at the Crown Towers Hotel, a luxury resort with massive rooms, great restaurants, and direct access to the Crown Casino. This hotel sits right in the heart of the city, you can thank us later. We’re getting up early, so you’ll have to turn off all six alarms you set five minutes apart.

Perfect timing, Societe Hardware just opened– a Melbourne staple that serves classic Breakfast dishes with modern twists. This spot has great eats and a huge coffee menu, it’s loved by locals and tourists alike. We recommend pairing their pulled pork egg sandwich with an espresso.

Time for lunch. Head to Queen Victoria Marketplace. This huge open-air marketplace offers multicultural cuisine options and endless local finds. Seriously, there is a bite for everyone here.

There’s no better way to digest than enjoying a serene private cruise down the Yarra River. While the boat's premium leather setting holds up to 16 people, the captain’s knowledge about Melbourne makes the ride both informative and entertaining. Take in the great views, feel the breeze, maybe even nap under the sun. Drinks are BYO, so plan accordingly.

All those drinks call for a lavish dinner. You’ve got to check out Chin Chin, a fun spot that serves amazing Southeast Asian cuisine. We recommend the Kingfish Sashimi. Great eats aside, the drinks and vibes at Chin Chin are off the charts. Expect good music, energetic crowds, and vibrant lights.

To enjoy Melbourne to the fullest, you’ve got to make the most of every moment. One last piece of advice: Stay away from the kangaroos, they are not as friendly as you think.
